Count selections without replacement when order does not matter. The selected count cannot exceed available items.
Count ordered selections without replacement. Selecting A then B differs from selecting B then A.
Raise a base to a real exponent. Negative bases require exponents yielding real values; undefined or infinite results are rejected.
Find the nonnegative number whose square equals the input. Negative inputs have no real square root.
Find the real cube root of a positive or negative number. For example, the cube root of −8 is −2.
Find a real root of integer degree. A negative radicand requires an odd degree; the principal nonnegative root is used otherwise.
Calculate a logarithm in any positive base except one. Both the number and base must be positive.
Express a number as a mantissa and a power of ten. Zero is displayed separately because it has no unique normalized exponent.
Round to up to eight decimal places using JavaScript Math.round, which resolves exact halfway values toward positive infinity.
Divide nonnegative integers and show the integer quotient and remainder. The divisor must be positive.
Solve a quadratic equation with real coefficients and real roots. The leading coefficient must be nonzero and the discriminant nonnegative.
Solve a single linear equation. A zero coefficient does not determine one unique solution and is rejected.
Find the nth term and sum of an arithmetic sequence, where each term changes by the same fixed amount.
Find the nth term and finite sum when every term is multiplied by a constant ratio. Ratio one uses n times the first term.
Find the slope between two points. Vertical lines have undefined slope and cannot be represented by this numeric result.
Find the point halfway along a straight segment in a two-dimensional Cartesian coordinate system.
Calculate straight-line Euclidean distance in a plane. Coordinates must use the same scale; this is not road or geographic distance.
Find the hypotenuse of a right triangle from its perpendicular legs. Both legs must use the same length unit.
Convert angular degrees to radians without wrapping the angle. A full turn is 360 degrees or 2π radians.
Calculate sine, cosine and tangent of an angle in degrees. Tangent is undefined at odd multiples of 90 degrees.
Convert a nonnegative safe integer into its binary representation. Fractional values and integers above JavaScript safe precision are excluded.
Convert a nonnegative integer to hexadecimal digits 0–9 and A–F. This does not interpret signed machine-word formats.
Find area, perimeter and diagonal of a square. Enter the side in one consistent unit; area uses its square.
Find the area, perimeter and diagonal of a rectangle using perpendicular length and width in the same unit.
Calculate circle area, circumference and diameter from the radius. Do not enter the diameter in the radius field.
Use a triangle base and its perpendicular height. A sloping side is not generally the height.
Find triangle area from three sides. Each pair of sides must sum to more than the remaining side.
Find area, height and perimeter when all three sides have equal length and every angle is 60 degrees.
Find the height and area from an equal side and base. The base must be shorter than twice the equal side.
Calculate area from two parallel bases and the perpendicular distance between them. Sloping side lengths are unnecessary.
Multiply the base by the perpendicular height. The slanted side can differ from the height.
Calculate area and perimeter from the perpendicular diagonals of a rhombus, whose four sides have equal length.
Find ellipse area using its two semiaxes. Each semiaxis is half of the full width in that direction.
Find area and perimeter of a convex regular polygon. All sides and all interior angles must be equal.
Find the interior-angle sum of a simple polygon and each angle if it is regular. Self-intersecting polygons are excluded.
Find the area of a circular sector and its arc length. The central angle is entered in degrees from 0 to 360.
Find the area between two concentric circles. The inner radius cannot exceed the outer radius.
Calculate the straight chord joining two points on a circle. The smaller central angle ranges from 0 to 180 degrees.
Find volume, total surface area and space diagonal of a cube from its edge length.
Calculate volume and surface area of a rectangular box from three perpendicular dimensions in the same unit.
Calculate the volume and closed surface area of a right circular cylinder, including both circular ends.
Find volume and total surface area of a right circular cone. Use vertical height, not slant height.
Calculate volume and surface area of a sphere from its radius. Area and volume have squared and cubed units respectively.
Find volume and closed surface area of half a sphere. The surface includes the flat circular base.
Find pyramid volume from base area and perpendicular height. The same relation applies to any planar polygonal base.
Find the volume of a cone cut parallel to its base. The smaller radius cannot exceed the larger radius.
Calculate ellipsoid volume using three semiaxes. Enter half-dimensions, not full diameters.
Find volume and surface area of a ring torus. The major radius measures from the centre of the hole to the centre of the tube.
Multiply triangular cross-section area by prism length. Triangle height must be perpendicular to its base.
Convert a drawing length to actual length at scale 1:n. The output uses the same length unit as the input.
Sort observations and find the middle value. With an even count, the median is the mean of the two central values.
Find every value tied for highest frequency. If all values occur once, the result lists that tie rather than implying one unique mode.
Measure the spread between the largest and smallest observation. The range is sensitive to outliers.
Calculate variance when the list is the entire population of interest. The squared deviations are divided by N, not N−1.
Estimate spread from at least two sample observations using the n−1 denominator. The result has the same units as the inputs.
Measure the standard deviation of a complete population. Use the sample tool when estimating a larger population from a sample.
Find Q1, median, Q3 and interquartile range using inclusive linear interpolation. Other software may use a different quartile convention.
Find a percentile with inclusive linear interpolation between sorted observations. Percentiles 0 and 100 return the minimum and maximum.
Combine values using nonnegative weights. Lists must have equal length and at least one weight must be positive.
Combine strictly positive multiplicative quantities through their geometric mean. Zero and negative values are excluded.
Average positive rates with equal numerators, such as speeds over equal distances. This differs from averaging speeds over equal times.
Find the root mean square of observations by squaring, averaging and taking the square root. Negative signs disappear when squared.
Express how many standard deviations an observation lies above or below a mean. Standard deviation must be positive.
Estimate the standard error of a sample mean for independent observations. Correlated sampling may require a different model.
Compare relative spread on a ratio scale with a positive mean. This measure is not appropriate for arbitrary-zero scales such as Celsius.
Measure linear association in paired observations. Both series need equal length and nonzero variance; correlation does not establish causation.
Find the probability of exactly k successes in independent trials sharing a fixed success probability between zero and one.
Estimate the probability of exactly k events under a Poisson model with a constant rate and independent occurrences.
Calculate interest on the original principal only. The annual rate stays fixed; fees, taxes and inflation are excluded.
Project a balance with a fixed nominal rate and regular compounding. No contributions, withdrawals, taxes or fees are included.
Convert a nominal annual rate to an effective annual rate using the stated compounding frequency. This excludes fees.
Find a compounded monthly rate equivalent to an effective annual rate. Dividing the annual percentage by twelve is not equivalent compounding.
Discount one future payment to today using a fixed annual rate. The rate and horizon must use consistent annual periods.
Value equal payments made at the end of each period. At zero interest, present value equals the sum of payments.
Project equal contributions deposited at the end of each period. Contributions and return rate must refer to the same period.
Find a monthly contribution needed to close a savings gap without assuming investment returns or inflation.
Calculate equal monthly principal-and-interest payments for a fixed-rate loan. Fees and insurance are excluded.
Estimate remaining principal just after the kth scheduled monthly payment. Assumes no extra payments, missed payments or fees.
Estimate one monthly interest-only payment. This payment does not reduce principal and does not include fees.
Measure net return relative to the total invested cost. This does not annualize the return or account for cash-flow timing.
Find a constant annual growth rate between two positive values. Intermediate deposits and withdrawals are excluded.
Adjust a nominal return for inflation over the same time period. Both rates are entered by you, not retrieved live.
Estimate future purchasing power of an unchanged cash amount under a constant assumed inflation rate.
Calculate the exact time to double under constant annual compound growth. This is a projection, not a promise of return.
Measure profit as a percentage of revenue. Include every cost relevant to the margin you intend to measure.
Set a selling price by adding a percentage of cost. Markup on cost differs from profit margin on revenue.
Find whole units needed to cover fixed costs. Selling price must exceed variable cost per unit.
Compare packages by cost per unit of quantity. Use the same unit, such as kilograms or pieces, for every package compared.
Apply a second discount to an already discounted price. Discount percentages cannot simply be added.
Allocate depreciable cost evenly over useful life. Salvage cannot exceed cost; this is a general model, not a local tax schedule.
Estimate simple payback with constant annual cash flows. It ignores discounting and cash flows after recovery.
Compare an entered annual dividend with an entered share price. Dividend amounts may change and no live market data is used.
Compute a price-to-earnings ratio for positive earnings. Ensure price and earnings refer to the same share basis and currency.
Subtract outstanding liabilities from asset values measured at the same date. This does not assess liquidity or future income.
Calculate a reserve target using the number of months you choose and subtract existing savings. The tool does not prescribe a target.
Convert annual gross pay to an hourly equivalent based on paid hours. Taxes, overtime premiums and benefits are excluded.
Estimate gross overtime pay using a multiplier you provide. This does not determine statutory eligibility or local labor rules.
Convert money with an exchange rate entered manually and a percentage fee. No live rate or bank quotation is retrieved.
Divide total distance by total elapsed time, including stops. This is average speed, not instantaneous speed.
Calculate average acceleration along one axis. Signed velocities must refer to the same positive direction.
Calculate displacement and final velocity under constant acceleration in one dimension. Displacement may differ from total distance.
Estimate fall time and speed from rest with constant gravity and no air resistance. Real objects may behave differently.
Estimate an ideal projectile range when launch and landing heights match. Air resistance, wind and curvature are excluded.
Calculate net force from mass and acceleration in SI units under classical mechanics.
Calculate classical translational kinetic energy. The model is intended for speeds far below the speed of light.
Calculate gravitational potential energy relative to a chosen height reference, assuming constant local gravity.
Calculate signed linear momentum along one axis. Mass is nonnegative and velocity sets the direction.
Calculate impulse using average force over a time interval. It equals the change in momentum along the same axis.
Calculate work by a constant force along a straight displacement. Perpendicular forces do zero work in this model.
Find average power from work transferred during a positive time interval. The result is watts when inputs are joules and seconds.
Calculate average density from mass divided by occupied volume. Use kilograms and cubic metres for an SI result.
Calculate uniform pressure from the force normal to a surface. The area must be expressed in square metres.
Estimate the pressure increase below a fluid surface. Atmospheric or other surface pressure must be added separately for absolute pressure.
Calculate the buoyant force from displaced fluid volume. This is the upward force, not the net force on the object.
Calculate torque magnitude using the angle between position vector and force. At 90 degrees the lever arm is fully effective.
Find the inward net force required for circular motion at the entered speed and radius.
Apply Hooke’s law within a spring’s elastic range. The restoring force opposes displacement and stored energy is nonnegative.
Estimate the period of a simple pendulum for small angular oscillations, negligible friction and a point-like mass.
Find wavelength from wave speed and frequency in the same medium. Wave speed is an input rather than a universal constant.
Convert cyclic frequency to period and angular frequency. Hertz means cycles per second, not radians per second.
Calculate current and dissipated power for an ideal ohmic resistor with positive resistance. This is a component model, not a wiring design.
Calculate DC electrical power. AC systems may require RMS values, phase information and power factor not represented here.
Add nonnegative ideal resistor values connected in series. Values must all use ohms.
Find equivalent resistance for positive ideal resistors in parallel. Zero resistance is excluded to avoid division by zero.
Calculate energy stored in an ideal capacitor. Capacitance is entered in microfarads and voltage in volts.
Estimate sensible heat with constant specific heat capacity and no phase change. A temperature difference in kelvin equals one in Celsius.
Estimate paint volume after deducting doors and windows from your area. Coverage depends on the product and surface condition.
Estimate whole packs of flooring including a waste allowance. Irregular cuts and installation pattern can change material needs.
Estimate whole tiles using nominal face dimensions. Grout spacing and cuts are not modelled individually.
Estimate concrete volume for a rectangular slab. This calculates material volume only and does not specify structural reinforcement.
Estimate loose gravel volume and mass using a supplier-provided bulk density. Compaction and moisture may change the actual quantity.
Estimate soil volume for a uniform layer. Settlement and compaction are excluded from the geometric volume.
Estimate whole bags for a uniform mulch layer. Bag volume and depth are converted to the same volume unit.
Estimate rolls from full-height strips. Include trimming in height; pattern repeats and openings require your own allowance.
Count posts for one open straight run with a post at each end. Gates, corners and closed loops need separate treatment.
Calculate slope percentage and angle from rise and horizontal run in the same unit. Material rules and local codes are not evaluated.
Divide a total rise into equal risers no higher than your target. Tread depth, landings and building-code compliance are not determined.
Estimate water volume in a rectangular pool using average water depth. Steps, curves and displaced volume are excluded.
Estimate filling time at a constant flow rate with no leaks or outflow. Supply pressure changes can alter actual time.
Estimate energy and variable usage cost from appliance power and time. Fixed fees, tax rules and changing tariffs are excluded.
Estimate consumption cost using one flat rate. Tiered tariffs, sewage charges and fixed fees are excluded.
Estimate fuel and cost at constant consumption. Include the full round-trip distance if you want a return journey estimate.
Calculate fuel economy from a measured distance and fuel quantity. Both outputs describe the same trip with inverse conventions.
Estimate charge time with a constant average power and efficiency. Real charging can taper; use average power rather than peak rating.
Estimate runtime from nominal energy and a usable-capacity allowance. Battery chemistry, temperature and current-dependent losses are not modelled.
Scale one ingredient in direct proportion to servings. Cooking time and temperature do not generally scale by the same factor.
Resize an image to a new width while preserving its aspect ratio. Rounded pixel height may cause a tiny ratio difference.
Estimate screen pixel density assuming square pixels and the stated active-display diagonal in inches.
Add or subtract calendar days, counting weekends and holidays. UTC date arithmetic prevents daylight-saving shifts.
Find the ISO weekday number for a Gregorian calendar date. Monday is 1 and Sunday is 7, independent of local timezone.
Find the ordinal day from 1 to 365 or 366. Leap days are included automatically.
Find the ISO week and week-year. Dates near New Year can belong to the preceding or following ISO year.
Return the number of days in a Gregorian year. Years divisible by 100 are common years unless also divisible by 400.
Find the length of a Gregorian calendar month, including February in leap years. Month numbers run from January 1 to December 12.
Count weekdays excluding the starting date and including the ending date. National and local public holidays are not removed.
Add Monday-to-Friday days after a starting date. Holidays are not excluded, so this is not a jurisdiction-specific deadline calculator.
Convert an hours-and-minutes duration into decimal hours. Thirty minutes is 0.5 hour, not 0.30 hour.
Subtract an unpaid break from each identical shift. This totals hours only and does not apply local overtime rules.
Convert work and heat energy. The calorie is the thermochemical calorie of exactly 4.184 joules, and kWh is energy rather than power.
Convert pressure units using standard atmosphere, bar and pound-force per square inch. Gauge and absolute references are not changed by unit conversion.
Convert newtons, kilonewtons, pound-force and kilogram-force. Kilogram-force uses standard gravity of 9.80665 m/s² and is not mass.
Convert radians, degrees, gradians and full turns. One turn is 2π radians, 360 degrees or 400 gradians.
Convert bits and bytes with explicit decimal and binary prefixes. MB means 1,000,000 bytes; MiB means 1,048,576 bytes.
Convert decimal bit rates and byte rates. One byte contains eight bits; network overhead is not included.
Convert cyclic frequency between hertz, prefixed hertz and revolutions per minute. Angular frequency in radians per second is a different quantity.
Convert acceleration using metres, centimetres or feet per second squared. Standard gravity g₀ is fixed at 9.80665 m/s².
Convert torque between newton-metres and force-length units. Although dimensionally similar to energy, torque is reported as torque, not joules.
Convert mass density rather than weight density. A gram per cubic centimetre equals 1,000 kilograms per cubic metre.
Convert volume per unit time, including US gallons per minute. US liquid gallons are different from Imperial gallons.
Convert mass transported per unit time. No fluid density is assumed because this is not a conversion to volumetric flow.
Convert coulombs and ampere-hours. An ampere-hour is 3,600 coulombs; converting charge to energy also requires voltage.
Convert electric potential difference between volts and metric prefixes. Prefix case matters: mV is millivolts while MV is megavolts.
Convert electrical resistance between ohms and metric prefixes. This changes only the unit, not circuit configuration.
Convert farads, microfarads, nanofarads and picofarads. Each prefix changes the scale by a power of ten.
Convert inductance between henries and metric prefixes. The result does not include frequency-dependent impedance.
Convert illuminance in lux, kilolux and foot-candles. Illuminance measures light arriving per unit area, not lamp power.
Convert thermal conductivity between SI-based units. A kelvin temperature difference has the same magnitude as a Celsius difference.
Convert mass per unit area, useful for paper, sheet materials and coatings. This quantity differs from three-dimensional density.
